Birthday Card Drive?!

Daron's 30th Birthday is coming up in a couple weeks.  He will be focused on the BMT by then but why not send him a bit of cheer with lots of cards filling up his mailbox.  He will be hospitalized during the transplant process (for more info take a peek at his caring bridge site) but Feifei will be checking the mail. I hope you can help!

His address is on the left hand column.  It will change by the last week in May so birthday cards need to get there by the 20th or so!  Thanks!

Address Change Again!

From now on Daron's apartment should be occupied almost daily by his guests (FeiFei's mom, our mom, and me will all be out there soon) or Daron inbetween his chemo.  So to side-step the hospital mail system they are requesting all mail go to his apartment which will then be brought to him by whoever is staying at his apartment.

Thanks for all the letters and mail!!  It's appreciated!

Let's Send More Letters

Daron is being readmitted to the hospital now - for the start of round 2.  I don't have his room number yet but you can send letters to the address in the left hand column and they get to him still.  Let's fill his room up again to try to make a dreary situation a little more cheerful. Thanks!

Caring Bridge

Daron and Feifei have set up a caring bridge site now.  He hopes to keep people updated that way.  Let's fill up his site with lots of comments!!  He is still doing okay, hoping to go home for a few days between rounds of chemo but that isn't for sure yet.  Thank you thank you for all your support!  It makes a big difference.

I will put a link to the caring bridge page in the left column on the blog.  Let me know if you have trouble accessing it.

Throughout the next year I hope to arrange card drives every other month or so which I will try to organize using this blog.  The next month of chemo is supposed to be very difficult.  Stay posted and thanks again!!

Merry Christmas

Mom and Colin are visiting Daron and Feifei this weekend.  Mom sent me a few photos and I thought I would share them with you....

This one came crooked and I am not sure how to fix it!
Thanks again for all your support.  As you can see there are quite a few cards captured in these photos.  There are more but I couldn't get the other photo off of my phone.  Victor asked Daron if he needed more to read.  Daron just chuckled and smiled. :)

Merry Christmas to all!
Daron, if you are reading know you are well loved!

Thanks

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has sent cards and mail to Daron.  My mom and brother Colin will be out in San Francisco for Christmas so I will ask them to take a photo of the room.  If you look at the long list of books sent it is clear that Daron will not be bored anytime soon. :)

He is still doing okay.  The effects of the chemo have started to kick in so he isn't feeling great but that is too be expected.  It is terrible to think about him feeling miserable though.  Thank you for your support and prayers!

What not to send/ Movie Update

I thought I should mention briefly that most patients undergoing intense chemotherapy can NOT receive fresh flowers or fresh fruits and vegetables.

Daron did sign up for Netflix so I think he will have access to most shows and lots of movies.  If you have favorite shows you think he should watch let me know.  He has spent very little time watching TV during the first 30 years (almost) of his life so most likely he hasn't seen it.  I already mentioned my all time favorite show Modern Family -- he thought it was a cartoon! Ha!

Thank you for all the interest in supporting Daron.  Lots and lots of people have mentioned sending cards!  Thanks!
